Iloilo City – As part of the Department’s effort in ensuring the effective implementation of Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities (ADM) Program in the Region, DILG Regional Office 6 gathered eighteen (18) auditors from the five provinces of the Region and three (3) from DILG RO 6 Audit Team to attend the 3rd Leg of Orientation and Action Planning Workshop on FY 2017 ADM Program last August 15-16, 2017 held at Smallville 21, Smallville Complex Mandurriao, Iloilo City. The Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs), Municipal Planning and Development Officer (MPDO), Municipal Engineer (ME) and Accountant of the LGUs of Guimaras along with the Guimaras DILG Provincial Staff also attended the orientation.
The activity was done in anticipation of the vital role of the auditors in ensuring that the information reported on financial accomplishment of implementing LGUs are true and accurate and that the financial statements are prepared in accordance with the existing accounting and auditing rules.
In his message during the program, Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, CESO III, DILG 6 Regional Director, cited the importance of the attendance of the COA personnel to the orientation because DILG wanted to level-off the understanding of the program between and among the COA Auditors and implementing LGUs to ensure the effective and proper implementation of the program. He added that in order to qualify for ADM, the LGU must pass the Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping of DILG which includes COA findings and compliance to Full Disclosure Policy.
Mr. Richard Villacorte, Program Manager, Project Management Office (PMO), commended the initiative of the DILG Region 6 in conducting this activity with the COA. He stressed the need to do similar activity in other Regions.
 Ms. Marivic D. Nocum, Asst. Project Manager, DILG-OPDS-ADM-WSSPMO, Ms. Jocelyn M. Santos, Asst. Project Manager, DILG-OPDS-ADM-LAR and Engr. Monien D. Peñaflor, DILG-OPDS-ADM-LAR discussed the guidelines, mechanics and implementation requirements of the ADM program. (Vincent Villorente, DILG6)
