Members of the Regional Poverty Reduction Action Team (RPRAT) of Regions 6 of the Bottom-up Budgeting (BUB) Program conducted a two-day Project Monitoring and Site Visit and the 4th Quarter Meeting for FY 2017 in the Province of Aklan and Antique last November 15-16, 2017.
Among the projects visited were Improvement of Sira-an Hot Spring and Health Resort in the Municipality of Anini-y, Antique under the Department of Tourism, Evacuation Center and Potable Water Supply System (Level II) in Libertad Antique and Revetment Wall and Evacuation Center in Tangalan, Aklan under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Part of the project monitoring and site visit is the conduct of Focused Group Discussion (FGD) with the Local Poverty Reduction Action Team (LPRAT) members of the LGU and One-on-One interview with the beneficiaries of the project. Project implementation, project functionality and project satisfaction are the main output that were culled out from the discussion.
The team utilized the second day to discuss issues concerning the implementation of BUB projects in Western Visayas. Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, CESO III, Regional Director, DILG 6, informed the body that even though the BUB program is to end this year, the mandatory meeting of the RPRAT is not necessary anymore but they can convene anytime as the need arises. RD Nuyda thanked the members for the relentless support to the program and requests that On-going projects will still be implemented.
Mr. Richard Villacorte, Program Manager and Mr. Glenn Miranda, Assistant Program Manager, Project Management Office graced the activity to discuss matters relating to the end of program instructions and presented the End-of-Program Report for preparation by the members. The end of program report aims to document the BUB milestones and accomplishment, success stories, identify best practices as well as the learnings in implementing the program.
On the other hand, LGOO V Aubry F. Fara-on presented the accomplishment of the Region as to the implementation of BUB Projects. She also informed the members that the reporting for the status of BUB Projects in the portal (OpenBuB.gov.ph) will continue until 4th Quarter of 2018. (Vincent Villorente, DILG6)
