A Rapid Subproject Sustainability Assessment (RSSA) was recently conducted to the completed subprojects funded by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in the Provinces of Aklan and Capiz. This assessment aims to ascertain the functionality of the projects.
The actual conduct of RSSA was conducted by the Project Development Monitoring Unit (PDMU) of DILG R6 headed by Engr. Romie Potot. Among the projects assessed this February were the rehabilitation and repair of public buildings that were destroyed during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 in two municipalities in Aklan and Capiz.
These projects were funded by the Recovery Assistance for Yolanda (RAY) program of DILG. The projects assessed were the Rehabilitation of Civic Center in Lezo, Aklan amounting to Php 198,000.00 and Rehabilitation of Day Care Center in Panit-an, Capiz amounting to Php750,000.00. The Municipality of Lezo was granted a total of Php4.2M for 15 RAY subprojects, 12 of which are already completed and 3 subprojects are to be implemented while Panit-an Capiz was given approximately Php13.8M with 50 RAY subprojects wherein 47 were completed, one waived and two subprojects to be implemented.
The PDMU is doing a series of monitoring activities in the whole region to ensure that the LGUs properly implement the projects based on their proposed timelines. (LGOO II Judy Mae T Magdato, DILG6)
