The DILG commended its regional and field office heads and personnel for their dedication and service in the midst of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis.
On behalf of SILG Eduardo A. Año, DILG Region 6 Director Ariel O. Iglesia thanked the Provincial and City Directors and their team for their relentless effort, commitment and support to the Department and the government as a whole during the past months as the region was under the state of Enhanced Community Quarantine brought about by the pandemic.

In a letter he sent to Provincial and HUC offices, RD Iglesia stressed the importance of their duties and responsibilities as frontliners and members of their respective Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for COVID-19 and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils.
As provinces and HUCs declared community quarantines since the second week of March, the DILG Region 6 activated its Emergency Operation Centers in the regional and provincial/HUC offices on March 17 to regularly generate reports relevant to the COVID-19 situation from local government units, disseminate issuances to LGUs and other concerned bodies, provide assistance to ensure their compliance thereof, and to gather and address issues and concerns relative to LGU operations.
The DILG Region 6 also mobilized its Local Governance Regional Resource Consortium personnel and regional and provincial/city communications team to answer to queries and complaints received by the Department thru its official Facebook Page, e-mail, hotline and other relevant channels, and to produce information and education campaign (IEC) materials containing vital information for the public as the region deals with the health crisis.
Municipal and City Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs) are regularly present in their respective LGUs to gather vital data, monitor LGU operations and validate reports and complaints received by the Department, among others. RD Iglesia also thanked all the personnel, whether working physically or from home, for ensuring the steady implementation of the Department’s PPAs despite the health crisis.
RD Iglesia also implored the continuous cooperation and support of Provincial and City Directors and all DILG Region 6 personnel as the Department endeavors to serve the public with utmost commitment and dedication while continuously battling COVID-19.
